Engaging Students in Problem-Based Learning in Remote and Hybrid Settings

7:00-8:00 PM

Do your students have strong problem-solving skills and persevere through challenging math tasks? Do you want to learn how to develop your students' mathematical understandings while teaching remotely? Problem-based learning is an ideal way to support students in developing the knowledge, skills, and dispositions needed to become effective and efficient problem solvers. In this session, we will look at specific strategies you can use in remote and hybrid settings to fully engage your students and support the range of learners in your classrooms. Teachers will leave with taks, templates, and structures that will help them implement this work now and when we can all finally return to our classrooms.

Mike Flynn is Director of Mathematics Leadership Programs at Mount Holyoke College and a pioneer in innovative online and hybrid learning models.
