ATMIM is beginning a new grant program of up to $500 for K–12 teachers of Massachusetts for a project to improve or enrich mathematics instruction in the classroom or in an after-school program. The teacher must be teaching in a school located in Massachusetts and a member of ATMIM or part of group membership.

As a math teacher at a K-5 school, the biggest challenge areas I see in math are related to students’ inability to see what numbers truly represent. Digi-Blocks is a manipulative that is incredibly useful for teaching students about place value.
